late summer of brat (2024) microblog

watching the snowshoe hare hop and flop around where I am it's easy to get super attached. they're so cute! i fear for their safety. one night I was woken by a high-pitched animal noise. it could have been a hare or coyote or maybe an owl, i was still half asleep. i want to interfere so badly, leave the bunnies a bowl of water and blackberries. but the old-school druids are all true neutral :/

i'm done spending money on movie tickets for the year. my personal ranking of ever first-run picture i saw in the theater this year:
  • i saw the tv glow - more movies should include *mild spoiler* connor o'malley singing happy birthday at the top of his lungs
  • furiosa
  • oddity - keep giving this director creepy old Irish houses to shoot movies in please. doing a dbl feature of this and caveat on St. Paddy's
  • cuckoo
  • longlegs - look up dax riggs' cover of cosmic dancer
  • maxxxine
  • eileen - anne hatheway was fantastic playing against type
  • late night with the devil - the only one I wouldn't recommend. I wish it leaned more into the found footage aspect

    • movie recommendation: the guest (2014) - very bisexually appealing movie where maika monroe (longlegs) adorns herself with triangles (witch house) and dan stevens (cuckoo) takes off his shirt. funny, weird, memorable throwback thriller with a great soundtrack
